In 2020, I had the itch to write long-form stuff again after mostly being a podcaster for several years. Luckily for me, 2020 is also when the world came to a screeching halt, and having a Big Project helped a lot of people stay sane.

Thus I started The Matt Signal, wherein I reviewed and ranked two episodes of Batman: The Animated Series each weekend for The Reel World. It was a fun time. I eventually completed every episode and film, so turned to Batman Beyond to extend the life of the project. But with time I ran out of that as well, and so The Matt Signal was powered down.

UNTIL! I got the itch again. I made the decision to step away from podcasting and The Reel World at the end of 2023, but I’ll always need some sort of silly project like this, so I’ve decided to revive The Matt Signal and expand it.

With that in mind, in 2024 I’ll be turning my lens towards Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. And maybe some other non-DCAU continuity things. Who knows? That’s where the ‘Forever’ comes in.
